Saira

Saira Hunjan was born and bred in London (South). Growing up her natural talent and passion for drawing and her hunger for creativity led to a school placement at the House of Living Art in Earlsfield, London. Little did she know that this was where her tattooing career would begin.

Now with 10 years experience, Saira is working alongside Nikole Lowe (a friendship that spans almost as long) on this new venture; Good Times Tattoo. Grounded and street smart in her approach, Saira has always alternatively been inspired by a surrealist sensibility…an imagination that is uncensored… and femininity in her work that screams “hopeless romantic” but simultaneously whispers “uncompromisingly so”.

Saira celebrates the notoriously bleak notion of death similar to the reverence with which the Mexicans commemorate the end of life. Her own cultural backdrop has a similarly tremendous and obvious influence in her work… whether it’s through tattooing or by means of the elaborate altars of mysticism. Mother India and its spirituality are in her blood and gives rise to a deeper impression in her art, which culminated in her launching the Gypsy Devil label in 2008. Saira has branched out into custom-made items such as silk scarves, murals and even coffins.
